Co-location Services
Co-location Features
Highlights
| Geographic diversity / Global Presence – Primus has sites in Los Angeles, Washington DC, New York City, New Jersey, and McLean,Virginia. The diversity will allow customer to launch and expand their service globally in a much faster manner. | |
| Diverse fiber entry – reduced risk of service outage due to single fiber entry into the facility. | |
| Physical Security – escorted access. | |
| Unescorted Access – customer access to Co-location and work areas 24 / 7 (on appointment). | |
| Redundant Power – redundant DC-AC Inverter to provide stable AC power supply for essential loads. | |
| Receiving and Storage – inventory controls to secure customer equipment arriving at the site. |
HVAC Design
All of the air conditioning equipment is sized to support typical Co-location facility needs of telecommunication carriers, ISPs, content providers, and customers requiring hosted facilities to support telecommunications and computer applications.
Co-location Power
Depending on location, Central UPS can be provided. In the locations that do not have Central UPS, a Cabinet based UPS or an inverter can be provided for mission critical power.
Generators / Battery back up provides enough back-up power to keep the entire facility operational at maximum load.
Facility Lighting and Other Non-Critical Primus Communications Equipment
Battery back up for emergency lighting is provided as per building code. Upon a power failure, the emergency lights will continue to operate. Once the generator starts up (typically, this is a 7 second delay), all lights and all non-critical equipment in the facility will regain power and become fully operational.
Co-location Space Options, Features and Specifications
The Co-location features fully enclosed lockable metal cabinets that provide visual isolation and increased security for customer equipment. Co-location cabinets are Front / Rear Access cabinets.
Front / Rear Access Cabinets
Specifications are as follows:
| Cabinets are 78” tall x 23” wide x 34” deep. | |
| Cabinets can accommodate 19” rack configurations. | |
| The internal racks can accommodate front, rear or center mounts. | |
| Doors are mounted front and back. | |
| Each door has its own key or combination lock. | |
| Shelves will be supplied upon request. |
Standard Cabinet Configuration
All cabinets come with a standard configuration, which a set of standard options can be added to accommodate customer needs. This standard configuration is what is installed, day 1, in all Co-location. The standard configuration is as follows:
| 19" front and rear mounted rails. | ||
| 2 * 15 Amp 120V AC power A & B feeds | ||
| One power feed (A) is turned on, which comes free with the cabinet. The other feed (B) is turned off, which is available for an extra NRC and MRC. | ||
| 2 power strips, which have 8 receptacles each (8 way power strip), total of 16 receptacles. | ||
| No shelves. | ||

Power Combinations
A combination of power options is available only with 120V AC and –48V DC as outlined in the chart below. No other types of power can be combined in a cabinet. Please note that power combinations treat DC A / B feeds and A feeds the same. In other words, if the customer wants 120V AC and –48V DC power, they can order a DC A / B feed or a DC A feed and they will be treated the same.
