Position Summary
The Senior Accountant will participate in the preparation and filing of external financial reporting with the SEC and the monthly internal reporting and analysis. They will be responsible for the compilation of financial statements, footnotes, management's discussion and analysis, and all other components of SEC filings. This position reports to the Manager of Corporate Accounting.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements and footnotes included in quarterly SEC filings
- Perform technical accounting research and provide guidance for proper accounting treatment and conclusions; assist with the implementation of various new and/or complex accounting matters
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of the monthly executive package that includes variance analysis for each reporting segment
- Prepare various analyses in support of the consolidated financial statements, quarterly earnings releases and other activities
- Prepare certain monthly consolidation-level entries
- Prepare balance sheet fluctuation analysis and cash flow statements
- Prepare earnings per share and shares outstanding reconciliations
- Responsible for the accounting and reporting of all debt related transactions including debt issuance, interest accruals, deferred financing costs and premium/discount amortization
- Responsible for the accounting and reporting for share-based payments
- Oversee the global intercompany balance reconciliations and CTA reconciliations
- Assist in SOX documentation and control matrix updates
- Serve as an Hyperion administrator backup
- Assist with special projects as needed
Qualifications
- BS in Accounting
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
- Excellent computer skills, including a solid understanding of Hyperion Enterprise and Hyperion Retrieve for Excel; experience with Great Plains is a plus
- Self-starter and strong desire to provide creative solutions to improve processes and financial reporting
- Must have a sense of urgency, good documentation skills, a high degree of accuracy, be detail-oriented, and able to react to change productively
- Ability to multi-task on several concurrent projects and meet multiple deadlines
- Ability to work 50 plus hours per week at various times to meet deadlines or job requirements
- Assist with special projects as needed

Desirables
- CPA preferred
- Experience dealing with foreign currency a plus
- Experience as an employee of an SEC-filer company
- Telecommunications experience a plus
